A few weeks ago, a group of 3rd ESO students of Citizenship visited the Canary Islands presidential headquarters, located in Leon y Castillo Street. The aim of this activity was to interview the President Fernando Clavijo. Firstly, students prepared a list of questions, which was designed in teamwork; then, they chose a representative from each group for interviewing Mr. President. Finally, they wrote several reports about it and this is one of them.

INTERVIEW TO THE CANARY ISLANDS PRESIDENT

One month ago, some Claret students went to visit and interview FernandClavijo, the president of the Canary Islands. They could also visit the presidential headquarters and take pictures there.

After taking the pictures, we met and we asked him three questions. A person of our class asked him: “One of the most important aspects of the Canary Islands which attracts tourism is the natural environment. What is the government doing to protect these places?” And Fernando Clavijo said: “97% of the natural environments of the island are protected.”

We also talked about the people that are overweight, as well as about terrorism. After the interview, we visited the whole building. The president and his secretary treated us very well. It was interesting. We hope that all the students could have this experience                                  By:
